This course is designed to provide Construction Professionals with a thorough understanding of fan system components and methods to increase performance using a “systems approach”. The course details the content of the sourcebook for Improving Fan System Performance, authored and developed by the United States Department of Energy. Part 2 of the course reviews common problems associated with the fan/motor assembly and system concerns including high operating costs and unstable operations. The course also examines the indications of oversized fans and provides corrective strategies. Design and control options that improve overall efficiency within the system are also detailed.
