CILB Sustainability Matters Pt 1

This course is designed to provide Construction Professionals a thorough understanding of General Services Administration and how it is committed to incorporating principles of sustainable design and energy efficiency into its building projects. This course details the content of Sustainability Matters presented by the General Services Administration (GSA) and shows how sustainable design seeks to reduce negative impacts on the environment, and the health and comfort of building occupants, thereby improving building performance. Part 1 of this course covers the history and goals of GSA, the government’s partnerships and guiding principles to help strengthen their commitment to green buildings. This course will show how employees use their work spaces, discusses how Historic Preservation is the greenest alternative, how green building does not need to cost more than conventional building and explore different energy saving contracts.
