This course is designed to provide Professional Engineers with a general overview of Personal Protective Equipment as outlined in the OSHA Publication, 3151-12R, developed by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration under the U.S. Department of Labor. It covers different hazards in the workplace and discusses how to protect workers against a variety of circumstances with appropriate PPE selection, such as, eye, face, hand, foot and leg protection. It details proper maintenance of all the different types and forms of PPE, teaches how to properly conduct a Hazard Assessment of the workplace, and explains hazards that can cause bodily injury and effective protective clothing and materials that can be worn to prevent them.
